Created by Wendy West, the series is inspired by the book The Skeleton Crew, written by Deborah Halber. Ultraviolet follows the life of Ola Serafin (Marta Nieradkiewicz), a woman in her 30s who is forced by circumstances to return to her hometown of Łódź. When a body lands on the hood of her car and the police investigation is sidelined, Ola reaches out to Ultraviolet, an online community devoted to solving crimes, and discovers a kinship with the odd collection of amateur sleuths who solve cold cases. In Season 2, Ola’s passion for solving crimes that the police cannot becomes all too personal when she must confront powerful enemies in a mystery that involves her own family.
